News was full of visits and visitors, official and unofficial, for shopping or to share a dinner with friend and family.
This little cutie was hanging out in town during the mid 40s. Find out more about his story at https://kmreynolds2.wixsite.com/greenwood/post/john-charles-murray-you-can-t-take-greenwood-out-of-the-boy

Tidbits about town in 1945...
The Oddfellows hosted a social after their meeting to honor Greenwood's returning veterans. Also, at the Oddfellows Hall, the Eastern Star held a card party.
Stanley Halle went to work at Lippert's store after returning from the service.
The Ransom Guild and BE Burger were at the Masonic Hall to sign farmers up for the soil conservation program for 1946.
Mr and Mrs Waldo Updyke purchased Lloyd Cornell's tenant house after selling their farm to Mr and Mrs Robert Updyke.
A few in 1946 too...
The Eastern Star held a dance chaired by Mrs John Horton, Mrs Robert Holly and Mrs Marion Streeter.
Jack Armstrong, Malon Kernan and Cashier RP Holly took a bass fishing trip to Thousand
Islands. Heads up, the stories of JE, Muriel and JD Armstrong are on their way in January!
A tea for Mrs Wass, the new Methodist Church minister's wife, was hosted at the home of Mrs Milton Chaffee.
Mrs and Mrs Lloyd (Irene Wallace) Chaffee with their son Dale visited from Niagra Falls.
Official visits from Deputy Sheriffs Harland Pease and Robert Merring. What was going on in Greenwood that warranted law enforcement? It drives me crazy when the news leaves me hanging.
A couple other official happenings: A survey for a drainage line on Main Street and repairs were performed on the phone switchboard by Mr Schenk of Wellsville.
A number of you were in town during the 1940s, how about sharing some other news worthy events that you remember?
